The patterned textures are each representative of the land, nature and sea and the ongoing harmony and disruption between these elements. Our narrative was an abstraction of a kaikaranga (female Māori caller) greeting the Rugby community with the hongi (traditional Māori greeting) and symbolically inviting the world’s best to play across the land.
